This award recognises the most outstanding full-length paper submitted to the conference.
Best Poster Award
This award acknowledges the most exceptional poster presentation at the conference.
Nomination Process
To ensure a fair and transparent nomination process, we have outlined the steps below:
Eligibility
All full-length papers and posters submitted to and presented at the conference are automatically eligible for the awards. If you do not wish to be considered for the awards, please tick 'no' in the submission form.
Preliminary Selection
The conference's technical program committee will review all eligible papers and posters based on their originality, technical quality, and presentation. The top 10% of papers and posters will be shortlisted for each award category.
Finalist Evaluation
Our Organising Committee will evaluate the shortlisted papers (prior to the conference) and posters (during the conference) based on the evaluation criteria outlined below. The winner of each award category will be announced during the Drinks Reception on the evening of the 15th of November.
Evaluation Criteria
The evaluation criteria for both the Best Paper and Best Poster Awards are as follows:
Theme
The paper/poster should be relevant to the conference theme and contribute to the overall understanding of the subject matter. The work should address a significant topic or research question within the scope of the conference. The theme should be clearly outlined in the abstract, introduction, or background section.
Originality
The paper/poster should present novel ideas, findings, or approaches that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field. The work should demonstrate creativity and innovation. The originality of the research can be assessed through the literature review, methodology, and results.
Structure
The paper/poster should be well-organised and logically structured. The content should flow coherently from one section to another, making it easy for the reader or audience to follow the development of ideas. The structure should generally include an introduction, literature review, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusion.
Discussion
The paper/poster should provide a thorough and thoughtful discussion of the results. The findings should be interpreted in the context of the research question and existing literature. The discussion should highlight the implications of the results for future research, practice, or policy, and identify any limitations of the study.
Format
The paper/poster should adhere to the formatting guidelines provided by the conference, such as font size, margins, citation style, and layout. For papers, this includes proper use of headings, subheadings, tables, and figures. For posters, this encompasses the visual design, organization, and clarity of the content.
Language
The paper/poster should be written or presented in clear, concise, and grammatically correct language. The content should be free of spelling and punctuation errors and should effectively communicate the research to the target audience. The language should be appropriate for an academic or professional context and should not include jargon or colloquialisms unless necessary for the subject matter.
